CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly builds available for Redmi Note 3, Mi Max, Moto X (2014)


CyanogenMod announced its CM14.1 builds, based on Android 7.1 Nougat last month. The same was made available for Moto G 1st and 2nd gen, Xiaomi Mi 4, OnePlus 3 and more smartphones in the first wave. And now, the builds have been released for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon 650), Mi Max, Moto X (2014), selected OPPO phones and more.

For the above devices, the update is available from the official get.cm website. Many more devices are likely to be added in the future.

Earlier this year, CyanogenMod announced that it would be shutting down its secure messaging service WhisperPush. It was a secure messaging service that would automatically encrypt all the messages sent and received between CyanogenMod users. The company had stated that users can unregister their device and number by going to Settings > Privacy> WihisperPush directly from the device. It also asked users to download a new Signal app, which combines TextSecure and RedPhone functionalities. It is an open source application which has been created by Open Whisper Systems and is available via the Play Store.
