Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched the Mi Robot Vacuum cleaner in China. The device will be available starting September 6 in China at CNY 1699 (roughly INR 17,000).
The Mi Robot Vacuum sports a flat circular design with two rotating side brushes on the underside for pushing the dirt towards the main cylindrical brush. The device also adjusts its height with the floor to extract as much dirt as possible. The two small wheels and one assistant wheel help the vacuum cleaner in moving around. It also features a total of 12 sensors such as a Laser Distance Sensor, wall sensor, and a dust bin sensor.
The device maps the complete room using the laser sensor and its 5200mAh battery works up to 2.5 hours on a single charge
A companion app gives a status check on the vacuum cleaner via Wi-Fi. Switching between different modes, such as live tracking and more are also a part of the offering. The company has already made its presence felt with a range of products such as suitcases, shoes, air purifiers and more
In related news, Xiaomi recently launched its first smartwatch at an event in China. Dubbed Amazfit, the smartwatch has been developed in collaboration with Huami. The Amazfit is priced at CNY 799 Yuan and will go on sale in China starting August 31
It also launched its Redmi Note 4 smartphone, priced at CNY 899 for the 2GB RAM/16GB variant and CNY 1199 for the 3GB RAM/64GB variant.
In India, Xiaomi slashed the price of its flagship smartphone Mi 5 by INR 2,000. Launched at INR 24,999, the smartphone is now available at INR 22,999
