Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched its first smartwatch at an event in China. Dubbed Amazfit, the smartwatch is a product of collaboration between Xiaomi and Huami. The Amazfit is priced at 799 Yuan and will go on sale starting August 31.
Xiaomi Amazfit comes with IP67 certification, which make it dust and water resistant. It features a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel and a 22mm user-replaceable band. The smartwatch also has a 28mm GPS sensor.
The Amazfit features a 1.34-inch circular display of 300x300 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz processor paired with 512MB of RAM. There's 4GB of internal storage and a heart rate sensor on the back with continuous tracking functionality. The company has partnered with Alibaba for mobile payment support with Alipay service.
Xiaomi said that the Amazfit will work with any Android smartphone which supports the MiFit app. It's backed by a 200mAh battery, which is claimed to offer 5 days of battery backup
Last week, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in China. The company has priced the 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant at 899 Yuan, while the 3GB RAM/64GB storage version is priced at 1199 Yuan. The smartphone is available in Gold, Silver and Grey colour options
